Cheltenham Ladies’ College is an independent day and boarding school in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, for girls aged 11 to 18 years. The school was founded in 1853 with a modern approach to girls’ education that was years ahead of its time, as it was based on the same principles as Cheltenham College for Boys.
In 1858, the principal, Dorothea Beale, a forward-thinking educator, introduced subjects such as science and maths, despite opposition due to these subjects seldom being taught to girls in the 19th century.
With consistently excellent A-Level, GCSE and International Baccalaureate results, the school has been the top girls’ boarding school in the UK for three consecutive years in terms of its IB results.
Crown Sports Lockers was commissioned to provide school lockers for Cheltenham Ladies’ College. We installed steamed beech veneer lockers with sloping tops and combination locks, in keeping with the school’s classic décor, set against white-painted walls. The interior of the locker features a single shelf and plenty of storage space beneath.
